Performance-graded throughout the week. Successful participants receive the full-time job offer after evaluation — feedback within 15 calendar days — and sign the hospital agreement.

Why is ADK running this workshop?

ADK Hospital is expanding its Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine & Neurorehabilitation services — including post-stroke rehab, post-surgical orthopaedic pathways and cardio-respiratory/ICU physiotherapy that our island communities increasingly depend on. Classroom degrees alone don't prepare a physiotherapist for ADK's caseload: from resort diving injuries in our Hyperbaric unit to complex neuro cases referred from across the atolls. So instead of hiring on paper, we assess shortlisted participants hands-on, inside our own wards — and offer full-time posts to those who prove they can deliver ADK-standard care from day one.

How selection works

  1. Days 1–6: supervised clinics, skill stations & case presentations — each scored (see schedule tab).
  2. Day 7 (morning): final OSCE + panel interview with Head of Rehabilitation & HR.
  3. Day 7 (afternoon): closing ceremony with completion certificates & graded transcripts.
  4. Within 15 calendar days: evaluation is finalised, individual feedback is shared, and job offers are extended to the selected participants.
  5. On signing the job offer: you enter a formal employment agreement with ADK Hospital — work permit, medical & onboarding begin.
Minimum 70% aggregate + "fit to practise" sign-off required. Attendance on all 7 days is mandatory — the stipend and completion certificate are only paid/issued on full attendance.

✈️ Travel — at your own cost

Participants joining from outside Maldives bear their own travel cost to reach Malé (Velana International Airport) for the workshop, including return/onward arrangements. If your nationality requires a visa to enter Maldives, HR will issue an official invitation letter on hospital letterhead for your application — contact HR well in advance. Please report to the hospital campus on Day 1 by 8:00am — airport pickup can be arranged on request via HR. After selection: joining ticket + annual leave passage apply per the employment contract.

🏨 7-day accommodation

The hospital provides 7 nights' accommodation within or immediately adjacent to the hospital premises (single-occupancy, air-con, attached bath, Wi-Fi), plus daily breakfast + working lunch. The 7 days cannot be extended — checkout is on the evening of Day 7. Please plan any onward stay yourself.

🗣️ Language requirement

English fluency is a must — all clinical documentation, handovers and patient counselling at ADK are in English. Participants selected for the job must hold an IELTS score of 5.5 or above. Knowledge of the Maldivian language (Dhivehi) is an added advantage for patient rapport.

Dear Participant,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been shortlisted for the 7-Day Paid Physiotherapy Workshop at ADK Hospital, Malé — chosen from a highly competitive applicant pool. Please note this letter confirms your workshop seat, not employment.

On successful completion of the workshop, participants selected on clinical performance will receive a formal offer to work full-time as Physiotherapist at the hospital — extended after evaluation. The feedback process takes 15 calendar days from Day 7, after which offers are issued to the selected participants. Your performance across the week (supervised clinics 30% · OSCE 30% · DOPS/Mini-CEX 20% · MCQ 10% · presentation & professionalism 10%, pass mark 70%) decides selection.

1 · The workshop

  • Cohort: shortlisted participants working together at the Dept. of Rehabilitation & Shafi'a Institute labs, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM daily with a 1-hour lunch break.
  • Start date: second week of December 2026 (tentative — official confirmation will follow by email).
  • Stipend: USD 450 for the 7 days, paid on full attendance and successful completion of all assessments.
  • Attendance: all 7 days are mandatory. Any absence disqualifies you from the stipend, the completion certificate and the final job selection.
  • Certification: workshop materials, BLS attendance certification and a graded completion transcript are issued on Day 7.

2 · Travel & accommodation

  • Travel: participants joining from outside Maldives must bear their own travel cost to and from Malé. If your nationality requires a visa to enter Maldives, HR will issue an official invitation letter on hospital letterhead for your application — request it well in advance. Airport pickup can be arranged on request — contact HR in advance.
  • Accommodation: the hospital provides 7 nights within or adjoining the hospital premises (single occupancy) + breakfast & working lunch. The 7 days cannot be extended — checkout is on the evening of Day 7.

3 · Path to employment (on successful completion)

  • Selected participants receive the full-time Physiotherapist offer after evaluation (feedback within 15 calendar days of Day 7) (Dept. of Rehabilitation — Orthopaedics · Neurology · Cardio-Respiratory), 48 hrs/week rostered including on-call, reporting to the Head of Rehabilitation.
  • Indicative full-time terms: competitive monthly salary in MVR (fixed per final HR letter; overtime/on-call per policy) · assisted housing or housing allowance · staff health coverage + Aasandha coordination · 30 days annual leave + sick & family leave per the Maldives Employment Act · hospital-sponsored work visa/permit with council-registration assistance · 3-month probation.
  • On signing the job offer you enter a binding employment agreement with ADK Hospital.

4 · Language & eligibility

  • English fluency is a must — clinical notes, handovers and patient counselling at ADK are conducted in English, and communication is formally assessed during the workshop.
  • Participants selected for the job must hold an IELTS score of 5.5 or above (certificate to be produced before joining).
  • Knowledge of the Maldivian language (Dhivehi) is an added advantage for patient rapport across the atolls.
  • Valid BPT/BSc Physiotherapy (or equivalent), council registration, ≥1 yr clinical experience preferred. Originals for verification on Day 1: degree, transcripts, registration, experience letters, passport, photos; police clearance may follow within 30 days.
